The Move!! Ready or not!

We decided work would move along quicker if we lived here, so we moved into the downstairs one bedroom apartment.  The four of us are "camping out" in our new little home!

There is plenty of space to store our things.  The storage room will eventually get a deck and French doors and become Chris' art studio.

The shop will get drywall and railing on the loft.

I guess I will get a new refrigerator after all, ours got tipped over in the move.  The front is dented, the handle and a few shelves broke!

The dogs are loving their new home!    The whole 1.6 acres is fenced except for the driveway.

Progress and some surprises!

The deck is moving along slowly and there was a few casualties!  A broken window and a couple of broken pipes, which slowed down the tile guys!

We discovered the floor joists had dry rot on the ends, so they had to be replaced.

But our tile guys did a wonderful job on the two upstairs bathrooms!

The last of the Demo, the decks!

The decks came down and carted off to the dump!

New decks will be installed over the next week!

The bathrooms have new tile being installed!  We are finally adding things instead of demolishing!  Making Progress!!

Making progress!

We got a new garage door installed on the shop.

The house is finally being put back together!  We are making progress.  The door is closed up from the kitchen to the deck.  The drywall in the kitchen is in with the first coat of "mud."

The sub flooring is installed in the bathrooms.

The laundry room has had the plumbing installed for the sink and the drywall is going in.

I have spent my week shopping for tile and lights.  So far we are within budget!

Final Demolition

There was 3/8" particle board subflooring throughout that was smelly and falling apart, so we decided to remove.  Underneath is 3/4" plywood.  Great discovery!  It makes a good base for the hardwood flooring and tile backer board in the bathrooms.  It was a lot of work tearing it up.

Both bathrooms are gutted and the plywood was wet and warped so it was removed in those rooms.

The door in the corner of the kitchen was removed, the pantry wall and wall at the end of the kitchen was framed and the new sliding glass door was installed.
